Camporee is a total Girl Scouting experience held every three years that celebrates all of the wonderful things about Girl Scouting: friendship, fun, the outdoors, learning new skills, great food, campfires, songs, games, and crafts. It's everything you love about Girl Scouts compacted into one action-packed weekend of non-stop fun.
The Camporee theme for this year is "Girl Scout Traditions" in honor of the upcoming 100 year anniversary of Scouting. This year's Camporee is scheduled for May 14-16, 2010. Daisies (K-1st) and Brownies (2nd) will attend the day-long program event on Saturday, May 15. Brownies (3rd)-Ambassadors will have the opportunity to stay overnight one or two nights (depending on grade level and space). Mark your calendars for this fun-filled event. The Camporee Patch is designed by the girls and the contest and rules will be handed out this fall. Pre-registration will also be held this fall. Final registration and leader training for the event will be in the late winter/early spring. S.W.A.P.S. are a fun part of the Camporee experience. Watch for swap activities being planned for the year. Your Camporee Committee is in the process of developing a fun-filled and jam-packed weekend. If you would like to join the committee and be a part of the planning, you can contact our Camporee 2010 Director, Sue Skivington at sue1119@aol.com
Each troop MUST have a trained leader for the level of camping your troop needs. Please contact our Training Coordinator (and Camporee Director), Sue Skivington at sue1119@aol.com and she will help you with your training needs.
